It was great to meet each other, share stories, and find so much in common at our first company’s Pet Sitters Meet and Greet for North Dallas employees.
Recently a group of pet sitters from DFW Pet Sitting Services gathered for a mingle. We all held our meet and greet at the Dunkin Donuts in Carrollton, Texas. We came from Rowlett through Dallas to Coppell and elsewhere along the North Dallas tier.
Laura, our manager, had Dunkin Donuts all prepared for our visit. Donuts and drinks were waiting for us upon arrival. None of us had been to a Pet Sitters Meet and Greet before.
Our gathering was part business and part pleasure.
We rarely see each other but today we were able to place faces with names. And the opportunity to share pet sitting experiences was not lost on anyone. We all had memorable moments and pet stories to relate.
This is our passion.
One pet sitter told the story of how she accidentally locked herself out of a house.
This story prompted Laura to lead us into gentle reminders of good pet sitting practices. She made sure we all understood what this entails. We all have guidelines to follow and some dos and don’ts.
DFW Pet Sitting Services is dedicated to outstanding customer service.
For instance, I heard these comments: “We are caregivers, loving caregivers for pets.” Another said, “This is not a job for me, it is a ministry.”
In the end, we had a drawing for prizes. Laura thought of some unique and humorous gifts for us. We all thought that was a kind gesture and to end the mingle with a chuckle was a great ending. At least we all hit the rush hour traffic with a smile.
To sum it up: We made new friends, exchanged pet stories and reinforced our procedures and practices. Most importantly, we vowed to gather again in the near future at a different location.
