Meet Bandit, the winner of our Summer pet sitting contest!

At DFW pet sitting, we love getting to know our clients and share their stories.

Bandit the pet sitting client

Our most recent contest took place this summer, and it brought oh so many warm and heart wrenching emotions to everyone who read the posts!  We asked our pet sitting customers to tell us things they have learned from their beloved pets.  Not only we enjoyed getting close and personal with our customers, but we also got an in-your-face reminder of how strong and often life-altering is the bond between people and their four-legged babies.

Bandit, our diabetic kitty whom we have been pet sitting since early 2015, is not just a pet to his mama Bridget.  I’d like to refer to him as “Bridget’s Bodyguard Bandit”… Their connection is strong, and they mutually lean on each other in so many ways.

Bandit is very protective of his mama, and he isn’t afraid to show it.  Pets often sense people better than we humans do.  What a great built-in guardian angel right here by her side!  Elderly animals, like elderly humans, have seen so much in their lifetime.  And they have lessons to teach us.  Are we willing to slow down and listen?  Are we ready to open our hearts and take in their wisdom?

Bandit has taught Bridget what it means to love unconditionally, and put others’ needs before your own.

Daily morning – evening insulin routine and timed feedings taught Bridget that caring for others, even when it involves quite a bit of work, is a rewarding thing.  This level of self-giving care teaches us how to serve others.  When we serve others, we fulfill the void of our souls, and we experience true happiness and fulfillment.  Isn’t this truly what we are supposed to find during our short lives here on this planet?  We often wonder about the meaning of life, and we search for answers that are already right here next to us, often in the same room.  Old teaching the young, showing them the way, sharing the wisdom.  Pets, humans, wild beasts – everyone has been put on this earth to connect and serve each other.  Only when you touch others is when you find the inner peace.

Asking our wonderful pet sitting customers to describe what they have learned from their pets was an amazing experience to everyone who have read their posts.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this experience of deep gratitude towards our four-legged family members and all their mamas and dads that we serve daily.  You guys rock!
