Nothing is better than hanging out with dogs, connecting with people around you, and supporting a great charity at a local winery!!
A fun-filled and wine-filled evening benefitting Canine Companions for Independence took place at Sloan and Williams winery in Grapevine, TX last night. The weather was gorgeous. The two-legged crowd was supporting this wonderful organization by purchasing food and drinks, buying raffle tickets and making donations. The four-legged crowd was mingling with each other. The service dogs stood out by wearing assistant dogs’ vests. They behaved way better than my own dog, they behaved better than my own kids!! These are the dogs we all want to be pet sitting!! 🙂
Canine Companions for Independence provides assistant dogs to children and adults with disabilities as well as veterans. Sloan and Williams winery is run by two veterans who donated 30% of all the sales proceeds from last night. Many local pet friendly businesses donated gift baskets and gift cards to the raffle.
I absolutely love when synergy like this happens in life and in business. Supporting small businesses in our own neighborhoods allows these businesses not only grow and thrive, but also support charitable organizations and impact community as a whole. Plus, needless to say, it was so much fun to see old friends and make new ones, two-legged and four-legged both!! 🙂
