Blind Pup Leads the Pack

Today is a happy day and a sad day…  Both segments of my contest are officially over, and I am wrapping up by featuring Oliver, the blind pup who received the most amount of votes.

The employees of DFW Pet Sitting Services were asked to post a picture of their pet and write what they would have told them if they had 30 seconds where their pets could understand them.

I got to witness more love and nurturing happening around us.  I guess that’s a perk of running a pet sitting company – you are surrounded by people who take really, really good care of their four-legged children.

The winner of today’s contest is Oliver, a blind pup who owns our tenured pet sitter Brandi W.  Brandi loves Oliver with all her heart, and agrees that she doesn’t need 30 seconds – her pup understands her already!  Here is what she wrote:

“What do you mean where he could understand me?… I’m sure he understand my every word…lol.
But seriously I wish I had 30 seconds to explain to him now that he doesn’t have sight or eyes for that matter, he needs to slow down and concentrate on his path.  I’ll never mind if he takes his time because it breaks my heart when he bangs his head into something.  He is getting better at it, except when a treat is added in the mix and then he totally forgets he can’t see and takes off to where he assumes he should be.”

Please check out our runner-up, Trevor the Turtle, who owns one of our veteran pet sitters Jennifer G.  Trevor got a nice following here on this blog, and a lot of people rooted for him.  It was such a close call!!  But Trevor holds a very special place in Jennifer’s heart, and I was just melting reading all the warm words Jennifer would have told him:

“Trevor, I wish every day of the year in Texas was warm and sunny so that you could explore the backyard each day.  I think it is adorable when you soak and keep one leg kicked out over the side of you soaking dish.  Keep being a cutie!”

Please check out more posts on our blog at http://dfwpetsitting.com/dallas-fort-worth-pet-sitters-voting-contest/ and share the love and cuteness!!
