October is a very special month for DFW Pet Sitting Services. In October 2003 was when the first round of paperwork was filed, when the decisions were made, and when the leap of faith was taken.  And looking at us now, with 200+ employees pet sitting all over Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, it truly takes my breath away. And it is our amazing pet sitters and dog walkers who make us who we are today.

This month, we’d love to put a spotlight on Natalie Butler who is a rising star in our company. She does pet sitting and dog walking in the Uptown Dallas area covering Oak Lawn, Turtle Creek area, Katy Trail area, and Harwood District.

Natalie moved from New York to Dallas to be closer to her son. She arrived here on July 6. While in New York, she started looking for jobs in Dallas. Pet sitting was the first thing that came to her mind.

Becoming a Pet Sitter in Uptown Dallas

“What brought me to this decision… To learn Dallas through the pets, to meet people through the pets. To learn Dallas through walking with our best friends. Ability to connect with dogs and cats. I have this ability by nature.

Your company truly impresses me. The way you conduct business, the ability to quickly find dog walkers from surrounding neighborhoods.”

Most Memorable Pet Sitting Experiences

“One of my first clients was a family with 2 Labrador retrievers. They were adopted and very apprehensive of new people. I established a connection with Logan and Maxie at first sight but a lot of work had to be done. Logan simply likes to hang around and cuddle, Maxie on the other hand needed time to connect.

Slowly, slowly he allowed me to take him for short walks and then was comfortable enough to potty during the walks.

What really struck me and bonded us together is a simple cup of soup that I brought one day with me. When I start eating the soup Maxie approached me and we start sharing it spoon by spoon. Every other spoon went to Maxi’s mouth, consequently, every other one went to mine. It was the sweetest moment. The owner could not believe her eyes.
It never ever happened before!!!

One more memorable experience was with a dog named Chola.  I did overnight pet sitting with her for 4 days. We shared a bed together, and Chola slept near me on her own pillow. I establish a special connection with her through pure love and simply hanging out with her. To her parents’ surprise, upon their return, Chola was not anxious. Certainly, she was happy to see them, but there was not the usual anxiety that Chola expressed in the past …. It was very sweet and mentioned to me by her parents.”

Favorite Areas in Uptown Dallas

“I love walking on Katie Trail and Turtle Creek park. There I find a lot of other dogs making connections with each other.

Aside from pet sitting I love to read books in both Russian and English, swim, and constantly connect with people. Watching and learning about people through their pets is a pure thrill!!! How can one be bad when loving and caring for animals? For me, they are all family members.”

What Pet Sitting Taught Me

“So far what DFW taught me is quick response and the ability to help whenever I can. It brings me joy … We know what we give, we receive from our best friends.

Oh…. Of course, I do thank Laura and Olga for having such great company, and for Laura’s quick responses and flexibility!!!!”
